The thing that bothered me is not considering the impact an older child would have on their daughters. It's one thing to adopt an older child if you are already a child-less couple or your children are much older and out of the house. It's another thing to bring in an older child with their problems into a family with two young, impressionable daughters. What was Beth thinking in suggesting that? I get she wants to find a solution that makes Randall happy but you have to put your own daughters first!
Exactly what I was thinking. If I had two young children - girls or boys - I wouldn't bring an older child into the family who might possibly have issues. You just never know what the older child might wind up doing to the younger ones. And I say this regardless of race or gender, before anyone sounds the outrage alarm.
Exactly! I'm the poster you quoted. Then last night when she admitted to writing all Yes answers - even to the question "would you be okay with a child who suffered physical or mental abuse" (or however it was worded). Beth just answered yes without giving it any thought! At least Randall had the intelligence to question how it would affect the daughters. What type of parent would honestly answer yes to that question when they have two young daughters at home? Beth bugged me last night. I'm beginning not to like her. Kate is indeed insufferable. Toby gave a great speech to Rebecca - Team Kate forevah. The small gesture he made to Miguel (pigs in a blanket) was also really thoughtful. I'm glad he seems to want to befriend Miguel. I feel bad for Rebecca. She doesn't seem like a bad mom at all. Randall seems to be the only one of the kids who understands her or is willing to see her side. The other two seem to idolize Jack therefore Rebecca must be bad. I seem to be the only one who is going crazy waiting for the "how Jack died" episode. Sure I want to see it, but I'm also interested in how Rebecca ended up with Miguel and more of what exactly caused the strain between Kevin, Kate and Rebecca. There has to be more to it. Well, maybe not a strain between Kevin and Rebecca because he is just self-centered and doesn't consider his mom's feelings.
