Keep posting, GFR coaches. Riverbend will keep building while a quarter of your club leaves every year.
lol even last year during the hostile takeover attempt not even close to a quarter of the club left. and a lot of them are back now after spending one single season in the nightmare that was loudoun east now known as riverbend.
It was posted here that GFR shared at a meeting that the retention last year was 71%. If 71% stayed, 29% left.
Those players left BECAUSE of the chaos caused by ML's board putsch attempt right at tryout season, so it was unclear who would be running the organization and who would be coaching. All of those issues are favorable resolved at GFR now--stable new leadership and strong coaching slate--and ML is no longer there. Why would they now leave to go to a club under his questionable leadership?
No left because RS let NM run the club into the ground for his own personal gain. The “coup” was trying to stop that. You thought last year was bad wait until GFR sees their retention numbers this year.
The “coup” is the only reason GFR lost players last year. ML tried to blow up the club, had no idea he was breaking a ton of club bylaws and completely failed. Unfortunately no one knew all that until it was too late and feared for the clubs stability. but many of them are now returning after realizing what a nightmare LE was and probably only the oldest girls team who ML’s daughter plays for is actually going to Riverbend according to those who know more about this. Both of my kids teams have had a ton of new players at tryouts and only the people who are directly involved with Riverbend know or even care about the drama a year ago. NM has done a great job bringing in coaches to replace those who left from my perspective and that is the general consensus on the sidelines of GFR at this point.
