Neither the Mayor nor the Governor has any authority over the Charlottesville police.  Charlottesville (as in many places in Virginia) has a council-manager style of governance.  The city manager enacts the wishes of the city council.  The city manager would be the one to give orders to the police if necessary; the mayor has no authority over the police, nor does the state governor.  The governor has authority of the NationalGuard once a state of emergency is declared and the Guard's help is sought.  This did not happen until 11 am on Sat.

White Nationalists want to build a story that the Mayor ordered them not to be defended, perhaps because he is Jewish and it fits in with their idea that Jews run everything and that the Jews are globalists with no loyalty to nation, they want to destroy nationalists.

The whole Mayor ordered a stand down story is not correct.[/quote]
