Let’s not blame the BF as being a bad influence.

Rather, let’s acknowledge that she is mentally unstable. It doesn’t take an outside influence to prompt her erratic behavior.

I think her parents tried to protect her as best they could. They weren’t perfect, but at least they kept her alive and preserved her reputation, kept her business afloat, etc. Without any control over her, the ball is in her court in terms of staying medicated and seeking medical attention when she’s in the throes of an episode. Anyone who has loved ones like her realize that mentally unstable people are not capable of realizing when they are struggling let alone proactively seeking help. This is tragic. She will spiral. It won’t happen overnight, but I’d guess that within a decade her reputation and business will be ruined and she will be in and out of court-mandated psychiatric holds. [/quote]
