I know plenty of mentally healthy forty year olds who show off their bodies on social media. The only difference is that they actually have the bodies to do it.

I am rooting for Britney, but she clearly has some very serious mental health issues. Her boyfriend seems like bad news, and is likely using her. I don’t know what to think of her family. Perhaps they were trying to truly protect her, but obviously whatever they tried did not pan out well. I think they were trying to help her, but it also seemed like they also wanted to keep her money and earning power going so were not willing to give that up while trying to get her help.

Yes it's beyond embarrassing and the clues are all there. She has teenagers and is talking about having more kids at 40. I suspect this boyfriend is not a good influence and will end up taking her for a ride as well.

Let’s not blame the BF as being a bad influence.

Rather, let’s acknowledge that she is mentally unstable. It doesn’t take an outside influence to prompt her erratic behavior.

I think her parents tried to protect her as best they could. They weren’t perfect, but at least they kept her alive and preserved her reputation, kept her business afloat, etc. Without any control over her, the ball is in her court in terms of staying medicated and seeking medical attention when she’s in the throes of an episode. Anyone who has loved ones like her realize that mentally unstable people are not capable of realizing when they are struggling let alone proactively seeking help. This is tragic. She will spiral. It won’t happen overnight, but I’d guess that within a decade her reputation and business will be ruined and she will be in and out of court-mandated psychiatric holds.

Her eyes are just so….vacant.

Not so sure. Her bf is over 10 years younger and there's a big income disparity which is a red flag.

I don't think flashing her boobs and other social media signs are necessarily reassuring. There are some real mental issues at play here. I saw a clip of her this morning, and she was somewhat rocking back and fourth while she was speaking. That is a self soothing behavior.

Hopefully things do get better for her, but she shouldn't be having anymore kids. Not with this guy imo.

Why oh why would the mother of two young teen boys dress the way she does? She does not have the body she once did and really doesn’t need to show it off constantly. It’s a scream for attention.

I agree with both PPs. The conservatorship needed to end but I think Britney is in need of continued mental health care. She seems childlike in her behaviors, over posting and sharing. She lashes out when people are critical or do not provide the comments she likes. Social media and the press can be cruel and I think she might have another break if she is attacked. She also needs to focus on being a mom to her boys. They need her. The fiance strikes me as an opportunist. She has never had any real talent and her singing voice is weak at best. Unless she has a plan for her life going forward, I think she may be in for a rough road ahead.

NP. I'm actually very hopeful for her, and encouraged by this. I think Britney knows she has 'issues' but the conservatorship was put in place for her dad (and others) to be leeches -- it was never in place to actually help her. I sincerely think freedom will actually get her better help and on a better mental health path.

Worse case scenario... even if not, she still deserves to do whatever she wants with her life and her money that she earned.

It sounds like she acknowledges she needs someone to manage her money, so she's probably taken steps to that end.
