That Is silly. If they want to do a Star Wars theme party and he doesn't have a shirt, cheap Star Wars Ts are easy enough to pick up. Or he can wear all black. Or carry a light saber.

Rare is the boy who does not have anything Star Wars.

OP, this is a fun idea. The vast majority of parents are not the crazy fun sucking anti happiness dcum moms.

Most people will have a lot of fun with this theme, especially the kids.

Have some of your own kid's costumes/Star Wars stuff on hand to share if a kid comes without.

Nobody's saying the party plans won't be "fun" - just that it's a PITA.

OP, the best thing to do would include something like this on the invitation: "feel free to wear a star wars shirt! We'll have extras on hand so everyone can join in the fun."

And then buy enough cheap shirts/clothing for all the kids to wear should anyone forget or not have a shirt. The burden of having a fun party should be on you and your son - not on other kids or parents complying with specific requests. [/quote]
