The answer is yes, your wife should not be doing this. Your kid knows that they didn't play and that there is nothing to be proud of. The only two possible outcomes are 1) it embarasses the kdis, or 2) the kid slowly learns to believe that he is actually accomplishing something. Neither are good. Sounds like just making the team is a good enough accomplishment. But after congratulating the kid for that, there no need to pretend it is anything more than that.[/quote]
