Every kid would no doubt handle an out of state boarding situation differently; I am not sure my daughter would have been ready for it, and as parents I know we would not have.  That said, my daughter has friends at school who are from other states and countries and they seem to be well-adjusted and happy (but again, who really knows . . .).  [/quote]
