The massage lasted exactly as long as was agreed on beforehand (i.e., no "extra minutes") and was adequate and satisfactory.   No problems, but then again, nothing particularly notable or unusually good.

When the masseur saw me filling in the tip line for an amount that was exactly equal to 20% of the total, she made a face.  I asked if there was a problem, because I [u]honestly [/u]thought this was going to be one of those situations where the employee doesn't actually get the whole tip and the owner keeps some.  So I said, "Is this OK??" meaning, 'you're going to get the cash, right?"

And I was stunned when she replied that really, the right amount of tip was an amount she named (and was approximately 25% of the bill).

I threw a couple of ones on the counter, and I won't go back to her due to her grubby rudeness , but it occurred to me that I committed a transaction faux pas.
