Homework was definitely more, but DC learned how to get more done by the last quarter.  Same thing happened in 4th grade.... seemed like a lot at first and then by the end of the year it seemed like very little homework.  I think he got better at doing it (and started taking ADHD meds -- maybe more productive AT school so didn't need to bring as much home).

More quantified standards for every project at AAP.  More quantified grading for every test/assignment in AAP.  Not necessarily a lot of communication on weekly activities unless it required home effort.

If your child is struggling.... wait until Tgiving (or Xmas) to make a decision.  Just take it one day and one week at a time.[/quote]
