They may have plenty of applicants who don't need as much education and who are more likely to attend.

St John's is an older DC institution. There are thousands of local alumni. Many of those who apply and go there know a great deal about the current school and the school's history.

Most of the objective info about the school can be found on-line.

If you are serious about the school and have a low level of knowledge about the environment there, I would recommend you go to a St John's football game. You'll see the whole thing --- the students, the alumni, the teams, the enthusiasm ---before you.
