They are basically the same.[/quote] not refrigerator but AC, yes - not b/c fire hazard but to save power. i had a burnt plug once (which i didn't know until much later. it was burnt pretty bad.) so i maybe overly cautious. dedicated circuits are fine (e.g., refrigerator) b/c they are sized correctly. it's the non-dedicated circuits (like the ones you connect your humidifier) that can overload and cause fire.
