What's the point? Pure retribution, because after a certain point, length of senetence does not change the deterrent factor -- 4 months or 4 years have the same deterrent effect. He has guilt, he doesn't need 4 years (1 year served) of prison time to feel worse, although he may want the prison time for expiation. [/quote]
