File a claim with your insurance company. They will work it with his insurance company. I personally woudlnt get my insurance involved at all. Why? It will count as a claim. I just had someone Horne from behind. I called the person's insurance and dealt with it. I didn't want my insurance involved at all. I disagree - I have USAA and was hit by a truck yesterday. I was stopped and the truck backed out of a spot behind me and the rear of my car. I am not at fault and going through USAA is easy for me. I trust their approved shops and know that I am not going to get the run around. For me time is the most constrained element in my life and USAA and their approved locations will work on my time. I'm really surprised your insurance company is agreeing to pay for an accident where you were not at fault. That is not how insurance companies work.
Another USAA client here. Love, love, love USAA! This is how they work. They will pay and later deal with the other insurance company. I have been with USAA for 38 years. When you buy insurance from them, you are buying their incredible expertise and their ability to work FOR YOU. If your insurance company does not do this, you are with the wrong company!
