https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/04/19/what-men-and-women-wanted-in-a-spouse-in-1939-and-how-different-it-is-today/ Its very curious that men, even today, want a wife who can cook and build a home and women want a man who can provide. Whatever happened to women's lib?
Read the article. It speculates that there isn't some rise in men who suddenly want a woman with some domestic skills. Rather, in 1939, it was assumed all women did this, where now men can't expect it. Same with women who want a man who can provide. In 1939, that was a pre-requisite for every man, let alone one ready for marriage. Now, there are so many dead beat men out there who can't or won't provide, women have to consciously prioritize it. Exceptions to every rule, but the fact women want a strong provider and men want a good domestic partner has not and will not change.
