Beyoncé is a curator--she assembles songs to tell a story, which in this case may be a story about her parents or it may not be a story about anyone specific. The songs might apply to her life but they are not her truth, which is why I think it's silly to read into Beyoncé's lyrics in the same way as lyrics by someone like Taylor Swift (even if you hate Taylor, it is well known that she writes her own songs).
