There is a lot of self-selection involved when it comes to applying to TJ.   It is crazy to think that white applications will do anything other than continue to go down when TJ is close to 70% Asian, and the admissions rate for Asian applicants under TJ's supposedly "holistic" approach is much higher than the admissions rate for non-Asians, and both the percentage and absolute number of white students in FCPS as a whole is declining.

The percentage of "whites" is certainly declining, but I don't think the total number of "whites" is declining.  In terms of raw numbers, it appears that a smaller percentage of qualified "whites" are applying to TJ and hence plan to attend base school.[/quote]
