There are a lot of kids with those fantastic stats that did not get in. Harvard's freshman class is 11.6% black, which almost proportional to the black percentage of the general populations (13%). Of those blacks admitted to Harvard, it's not exactly like they had 2.0 GPAs and 1300 SAT scores. They had scores/activities commiserate with being admitted to Harvard. In fact, the percentage of legacy admits (13%) is greater than the amount of black admits. I'm not sure why you're not as worried about that group. Well over 64% of the freshman class is white. There are more than enough seats for your child.[/quote]
