He goes away for 6-8 weeks at a time during which time we maybe speak 1x a week and exchange a couple emails. He was on travel the first 4 out of 6 months of our daughter's life. It didn't bother me. I have plenty of friends and interests and can handle life on my own. I also have interests outside my family. I think never being away from the family for more than a couple nights is unhealthy, actually. In fact it sounds quite stifling and depressing to me. But, fortunately, my opinion of your family life is irrelevant. Let people arrange their lives however they want. MYOB.[/quote]
