We just had the best trip to the Mayan Rivieria at an all inclusive. The kids loved the pools and the beach. There were a ton of kid activities at the resort. You could book excursions to see the ruins and other places and do as much or as little as you want.
Which resort ? Did you have a single room or a "suite"? How ok'd are your kids?
6 yr and almost 9. We were at the Bahia PrÃncipe Coba. We love space and 2 bathrooms so we got 2 suites. It was a lot of room. You could stay in 1 suite. Coba was fantastic for family activities and is right next to another resort, Tulum. We've stayed there too and that's right on the beach, if waking up on the water is important to you. You can use everything at both and little trollies run back and forth. It's a 3 min ride to get to the beach from Coba. The food is just ok but these are our go to, easy vacations while the kids are still young. They are more affordable and nicer than the other "affordable" all inclusives we have been to.
