[quote=Anonymous]There is a Commonwealth booster on here who is very adamant that Commonwealth does not take any non-college bound kids, kids with ASD, kids with emotional or behavioral or mental health issues, public placements etc etc.
Please no snark on Special Needs. We're all here to help one another. I have an ASD child and wish I had found this forum years ago. From Commonwealth's mission statement: "Commonwealth Academy is a welcoming school where many different kinds of learners can succeed. Average to gifted students who require the individual attention available only in very small class sizes, as well as students who have been diagnosed with a specific learning disability (LD) and/or with AD/HD will find an environment that celebrates their unique talents and supports their areas of need". Just call the schools you are interested in and ask. I have found all admissions officers to be very friendly and forthcoming. It doesn't serve the school well if they accept a child that cannot succeed in that school's environment and only the school admissions officer can size that up.
