My depression era mother would send a card and some money to my kids.  Since she died (two years ago), my father has not done anything.  My sister will send a card and some cash too.  DH's does nothing for any holiday.  They used to do something small for Christmas, but that has tailed off and never for birthdays either. [/quote]
