If I recall correctly, I did have Asics on my list of shoes to consider.  I can't remember if it was the Cumulus or Nimbus.  Some name like that.  Also if I recall correctly, I think some reviews said that Asics were a bit more narrow than other shoes.  Since I have wider feet, that made me put Asics towards the bottom of the list.

A while back some place said that New Balances were good for wider feet and that's what I wore for more than ten years.  I've been satisfied with them and only changed to try something different about five years ago.

But I think most of the brands had a model of shoe that I was willing to check out.  ie Nike, Saucony, Brooks, Asics, etc.
