I agree that there's much more to the show than light porn, but on a recent episode there was a prolonged and very explicit scene of two women engaged in oral sex.  There was absolutely no legitimate reason that scene needed to be there.  Call me a prude or old-fashioned, but that just does NOT seem to me to be acceptable viewing for a child under 18. [/quote]

The show is heavy on gratuitous sex and violence.  Also, sadism, as someone else mentioned.  I'd let an older teen watch, with me as painful as it might be for both of us, and discuss the show.  My mom was still trying to block certain TV and movies for me when I was 17.  I saw them anyway and then hid it from her.  I don't think you can control what a 17 year old watches but you can create opportunities for discussion.[/quote]
