Don't flame, but are we allowed to take the exams for the programs for gifted kids in both or either state and move if our child gets in? Just wondering. We're pretty happy with DC's choices so far, but our child tested into gifted programs in another state, and I'm not sure what we're doing for middle and high school.
Just remember in Arlington MS starts in 6th grade and in FCPS MS starts in 7th grade. If you are looking for MS and above, it is a little too late for FCPS for the formal AAP program. However, it means you can enroll her in the high level classes without jumping through hoops. She can take all Honors for her core classes in MS and in HS she can take Honors and AP classes. The main thing is getting her into the correct math class. What math would she be taking in 7th grade in DC? WHen will she take Algebra or geometry?
