Did anyone's child make it off of the wait list for a charter or specialty school after the school year began? If so, did you switch schools? And how easy/difficult is the process? My daughter is now in the single digits on the wait list for one of the Imagine charter schools, and her number keeps getting lower as we approach the first day of school. I believe they continue to make placements from the charter and specialty wait lists through September 30th, so I'm wondering how much movement occurs after the beginning of the school year.
Probably not a lot, but some things happen. I seriously contemplated withdrawing my rising Kindergartener from one of the choice schools. We had some upheaval with our other son's daycare arrangements , and if money weren't an issue, I would have withdrawn my oldest as soon as he got through the process at a private. If we had decided to go through with it, it would have been the first week of September.
