Also, I'd say see if it evens out some, or if its a continual gain over the next few months- but talking to her doctor and the other suggestions could easily be done in conjunction. Here is the thing. There are some women that literally would have to fight tooth and nail to keep their bodies skinny or even thin/ thinner. I am one of them. Am I way over weight- no, actually I have a normal BMI but my body holds onto weight and I stay at the top range and I LOOK heavier than I am. I struggled with this a lot as a swimmer growing up- I mean what person both looks "bad" in a bathingsuit yet manages to kick butt while wearing one?! I've been able to be thinner during my life but I won't pretend that it doesn't also come at a pretty decent sacrifice to the quality of my life. For some there is no "moderation"- what is moderate for most makes me stay chunky looking. Even though I am super healthy according to the numbers. Just like there are people who can be naturally skinny and eat moderately, there are those that will always carry an extra 10-20 pounds and eat moderately. If your daughter isn't in a gaining pattern but ends up holding at this shape (and remember she could thin out as she ages- I actually did a bit), that might be something you guys just have to deal with.
