I have a older craftsman garage door opener that does not want to close properly. it comes down to various level stops and goes back up. the ligh flashes like the sensor saw something. I look at the sensors and the one on the left has a green light and the one on the right has no light. When this first started happening it was intermittant and I cleaned the glass on the sensor eyes and it improved the odds that the door would close, for a while. Now I am back to most likely won't close. Here is the odd part, I have another door right next to it that is now starting to exhibit the same behavior. The second one is a much newer craftsman opener with the left sensor showing a green light and the left showing a yellow light. What could be the issue and is it coincidence that each is starting the same behavior? any recommendations for a service company in Fairfax if this is not a DIY fix? thanks
Have you checked to be sure the sensors are “lined up?” Our garage door did this and it was because the sensors on either side of the door were not aligned - i.e. - pointing at each other. This caused the sensors to “sense” that something was blocking the closing area.
