I'll buy a more expensive one if there's a reason to do so, but don't see the reason to spend the money if there isn't.[/quote] me too. we could have gotten a really expensive crib but went w/ an IKEA one that was under $100 (the Sniglar)...just didn't seem worth the $$ to buy a really nice one when they are all safety tested by the same standard and the Sniglar (and other IKEA cribs) get perfectly good ratings on Consumer Reports, among other ratings sites. we have been happy w/ our cheap little crib so far (we have been using the crib for about 5 months). I would recommend that you do not get an IKEA mattress for the crib, though. We bought a nicer crib mattress since we were saving so much on the crib. The IKEA mattresses are just really thin and not great quality (according to Baby Bargains, among others) and they are a standard size so any standard crib mattress will fit just fine.[/quote]
