Americans do not have the skills it takes now, such as speak Hindi and attend appropriate desi celebrations and have contacts at Indian colleges. Now we hire testers from Hexaware, Cognizent, Tata. No domain knowledge, just follow the script. lousy pay but work twice as long. You will work miserable hours, on call at last minute for weekend work, and be let go on a moments notice. Software Testing was and still could be a perfect skill for entry level college graduate but our culture has given the work to large Indian firms from New Jersey to place bodies. Reading the above I just remembered that I know someone who had retired early and sold her house in Potomac, because the system that she built and worked on for over 10 years was outsourced to India. This was a couple years ago, so it's still going on. She saw it coming though, as her upper management, Directors & VPs, were all Indian. It was common seeing them playing cricket in the hallways at lunch time. Wait - I also worked for an Indian company some years ago, first checked bounced, and was the only time I ever paid for my OWN drug test.... sad times we're in for IT, nothing like the good old 90's.
