Is it true that one can only take seven courses (because there's only seven periods per day)? If so, does it mean you can only choose one math course (required are English, science, history, PE and two electives)? DC wants to take two math courses at the same time but doesn't know how to register for them.
Yes, a student can only take 7 classes. 4 are core (English, math, science, history/ethics), PE and two electives. If your child plays an instrument or sings and wants to take a language, that takes up the two electives. Which two math courses? Math courses offered in MS are sequential and have prerequisites. For example, in order to take Geometry the student must have already passed Algebra I. In order to take Algebra II, the student must have previously passed Geometry. It is possible to take Geometry in the summer between Algebra I and Algebra II, however it is a serious class and takes up the summer and costs a fair bit of change.
