This seems like something you should be discussing with DC's current math teacher, to see if it's possible and how to proceed. As you can see, the form is not set up to designate more than one math class. Sorry, I have no idea what they recommend for students who are already advanced past the 7th grade offerings.

You do get a chance to confirm the class selections sometime in June, I think. But they recommend that you get as much settled now as possible, since it is easier to get your desired schedule now vs. having to make changes in June.

If so, does it mean you can only choose one math course (required are English, science, history, PE and two electives)?
DC wants to take two math courses at the same time but doesn't know how to register for them.

Yes, a student can only take 7 classes. 4 are core (English, math, science, history/ethics), PE and two electives. If your child plays an instrument or sings and wants to take a language, that takes up the two electives.

Which two math courses? Math courses offered in MS are sequential and have prerequisites. For example, in order to take Geometry the student must have already passed Algebra I. In order to take Algebra II, the student must have previously passed Geometry. It is possible to take Geometry in the summer between Algebra I and Algebra II, however it is a serious class and takes up the summer and costs a fair bit of change.

If your child is reasonably intelligent (middle of the pack or better),willing to put in the work, and without specific learning challenges, my recommendation is always pick the highest level possible in each subject until your student reaches AP level, and scale back from there if absolutely necessary.

What questions do you have? Maybe someone from here who's sent a kid through the school already can take a stab at helping answer them for you.

OP here. Thanks for the replies. If we turn the form in, can we still change it later?

My DW teaches 6th grade. Theirs are due in Friday and they've had two weeks.

Ask the 6th grade teachers what they recommend if you have questions.

DC is telling me it's due tomorrow. I found it's hard to believe because we just received it last Friday and the school was closed on Monday. There're still a lot of things unclear to us and we have to consult with someone before we can make a decision. So there is no way we can turn it in tomorrow.
BTW, this is for Longfellow MS rising 7.
Anyone heard about the deadline of submission?
