For example, we never had any contact at all with the HS coaches where my DC was accepted, but it would be obvious from DC's application and her interview that DC will play at least 1 and probably 2 varsity sports. I would assume her status as an athlete helped in her admission although she was not an "athletic recruit" in the sense that college athletes are recruited (multiple contacts with coaches, provide game film, stats, etc.). Perhaps you are interested in whether the student is a "likely varsity athlete" rather than an "athletic recruit"?[/quote] You can craft the language as you see appropriate. My child not being a likely varsity athlete, I don't know what goes into a child's increased chances of acceptance due to athletic strengths. I just know I have read about kids getting invited events at schools involving specific sports, and we were not one of them. That sounds "recruitment like" but not in every sense of the word.[/quote]
