What if student is not happy with the grade at the end of the online class. Can they retake the elective? will transcript reflect that this paper is retaken and any reason why they want to retake the class? what if the online class was at a faster pace and student had trouble catching up? Will retake be allowed in this case?
There are only two grades -- pass or fail. It is incredibly difficult to fail something since even a D is passing. I cannot imagine a student who actually makes an attempt to do the work being able to fail this course. I don't know about retakes. That would be a good question to call and ask the guidance office at your child's future high school, I think. As for pacing, the course is entire self-paced as long as the student submits everything by the ending date. They can spend as long or as short a time as they need on each lesson to make sure they understand it before moving on. They won't really need to 'catch up' as long as they make sure they're on track to finish everything by the deadline. I don't think pace can be much of a problem given the format of the class.
