I am unable to comment on heather hills. However, my daughter went to Glenarden Woods. We put her back in her local school. There was so much work especially homework that she began to not like going to school. I understand that it is magnet but i want my child to be challenged and like school. I am not sure if Heather Hills is like Glenarden Woods but hopefully someone can share their experience.
My info. is based on a friend who has kids there. They are very happy with it, but it does require a significant amount of at home support (reports, writing books, science projects, etc.). I have a child in a G/T program in another school district and I don't think there are so many substantive at-home projects compared to HH. There are quite a few kids there who are not really G/T material (i.e. not reading on grade level), so there are two tracks of kids --- and they are pretty much put in separate groups. If you are able to give support to your child then HH sounds like a very good education. If you are expecting it to just be an enriching experience during the day with minimal at home tasks, then you won't like it.
