Are there different levels of math instruction within AAP math in the centers? or, for example, is everyone in the 3rd grade AAP math class doing the same thing? We are not in FFX but are considering a move there, so wondering how it works. We have been very unhappy with the "one size fits all" math in our current school district.
Generally, Math is differentiated in AAP and Gen-ed starting in 2nd or 3rd grade- depending on the ES in FCPS. Fairfax County is LARGE and things are run slightly differently in each school depending on the Principal and the specific population at the school. There are 139 elementary schools in the county. Once you have narrowed it down a bit, contacts the school and ask how math is done in 3rd grade.
