I have 2 month old. I've just been too exhausted to do it. is this too late? is it tacky?
I think two months is fine. Three probably, too. Nice people always love a picture of a baby. Or, you could just wait 6 weeks or so and do a Christmas or New Year's card and put a little note with birth information on there, and maybe a picture of the baby as an infant and as a 3/4 month old.
P.S. I don't think it's tacky because I don't see birth announcements as a gift-grab, ever. I just think it's proud and excited parents (deservedly and understandably) sharing their happiness. Sometimes I send a present, but usually I already gave something at a shower. I just like getting a picture of the baby (even if I've already seen him/her on Facebook). If I've already seen him/her in person, then I don't really need the announcement.
Same here. I love getting birth announcements.
