The kids who were going are among the more advanced and well behaved in the class but there were definitely some more advanced kids who stayed in the main classroom. Why aren't parents told about these types of things?

Yes, I should have asked the teacher but DC is not really in the advanced group and I don't want to give the teacher the wrong impression that we believe she belongs there. DD's having enough trouble keeping up and IMHO the pullouts would be more useful for the kids that are kind of behind. This is a well-performing school so DD would probably be okay at a different school but here she's just kind of average.
