Can you recommend a good restaurants (ambience and food) for those type of cuisine pls? I will have friends coming to visit us and I am looking for ideas of cool/different places to take them while they are here. They are into food and cooking and experimenting new things and I am pretty sure they can't those type of cuisine are hard to find (if at all) where they come from, aside from Japanese (but they love!).
I haven't been, but read good things about Uncle Liu's Hot Pot in Merrifield. You may also wish to take them to Eden Center where IMO the food is more authentic than Present or 4 Sisters (both of which I love dearly). For Japanese, Tachibana and Sushi Yoshi are the gold standards in NoVA. Really no need to drive into town for Japanese. Other cuisines may be a different story. And, of course, you MUST go to Rasika for Indian.
