This episode happened yesterday, and I am feeling regret, like I was a jerk. I had a 1 pm appt. across the street from my office at my regular hair salon to get a glaze. (Takes 15 minutes, they put it on, rinse, and I skip the blow dry and leave with it wet.) I had a meeting running late today, and called the salon to let them know I wouldn't be there until 1:30. The woman on the phone was really snippy, and said, "Well, we normally would charge for what is a missed appt., but will let it slide just this once." I get the policy, and understood. I arrive, and they don't see me until 2 pm. Again, cool as I was late. But as I was leaving at 2:20, she scolded me publically, saying next time I would have to pay for two appointments as I was late. Here's the thing, last month I showed up for a noon appointment, and wasn't seen until 12:50. So I was thinking about this, and busted out with, "So you were going to charge me today? Should I have charged YOU guys for my time last month, when I had to wait? I won't be coming back." And I am always worked in between other people. Was I in the wrong? How would you have handled this? (Sorry I am long winded.)
