It's no way to treat a regular customer IMO, unless it happens regularly enough that they actually don't care or don't want you to come back. If they feel like your business is not profiting them because the stress it causes, they may just want you to stop coming. But if you are not usually a problem customer, yeah, I think it is a strange way to treat a regular customer.

Actually, you sound a little trashy for not knowing.

Agree! If they couldn't reschedule you at 1:30, she could have just said so.

OP,

Let it go. Don't call. You're not going back.

A glaze is a semi permanent dye to help blend grays. Its easier than highlights or a full dye and keeps your natural color.

You should still call the salon and tell them what happened. They need to know about this employee and how she interacts with their customers.

What is a glaze?

It was rude of her to say that the second time and in front of others. And sometimes people like that need to be confronted. But it sounds like you otherwise had a good thing going with the salon but now that relationship is over.

Ha! I like you IP - you say what I only think in my head. I might not have said it out loud, but I wouldn't be going back to that salon either.
Yeah, you were late, but sounds like it was a one time thing, you are a regular customer, and they are often running late themselves. The only thing that sucks is now you have to find a new salon.

My hair is really short, and I dry it at the gym in my building. Saves 30 dollars.

This episode happened yesterday, and I am feeling regret, like I was a jerk.

I had a 1 pm appt. across the street from my office at my regular hair salon to get a glaze. (Takes 15 minutes, they put it on, rinse, and I skip the blow dry and leave with it wet.) I had a meeting running late today, and called the salon to let them know I wouldn't be there until 1:30. The woman on the phone was really snippy, and said, "Well, we normally would charge for what is a missed appt., but will let it slide just this once." I get the policy, and understood.

I arrive, and they don't see me until 2 pm. Again, cool as I was late. But as I was leaving at 2:20, she scolded me publically, saying next time I would have to pay for two appointments as I was late.

Here's the thing, last month I showed up for a noon appointment, and wasn't seen until 12:50. So I was thinking about this, and busted out with, "So you were going to charge me today? Should I have charged YOU guys for my time last month, when I had to wait? I won't be coming back."

And I am always worked in between other people.

Was I in the wrong? How would you have handled this? (Sorry I am long winded.)
