I was wondering about this as well but DC will be taking the school bus to kindergarten. How does that work on the first day? Do the parents meet the kid at the school?????
They have teachers or patrols meet the kids as they get off the bus and they get them to the right room. Whatever the school's procedures, rest assured that they do not expect kindergarteners to figure it out on their own the first week. The schools do this every year. They know how to make it work. The last thing they want is a crying, lost child. You can put the kid on the bus and then meet them at the school. But, you don't have to. If you can't bring the supplies at open house, then you pretty much have to go with the kid on the first day b/c the supplies are supprisingly heavy and bulky. They will need help (even if they are beyond kindergarten).
