Is there a MS magnet school available for students moving into the county after fifth grade, but beginning of sixth grade school year? If so, what is the process? TIA
Not really. You have to lottery in to the magnets for TAG middle school, but you can't lottery unless you live in PG. I believe the exception is that if you are TAG identified by the county (you could bring the child for private school testing in February maybe even if you didn't have a PG address?) and you are zoned to a school that has a TAG magnet then your child is placed into the TAG magnet regardless. At least this was what I was told by the PGCPS folks when I asked. DD is zoned to the magnet for 7th and 8th but since our neighborhood school is K-6 she would have to lottery in for 6th.
