Try to find enough inner resources of courage within yourself, to do the right thing, which is to stop the cycle of abuse and convince your sister and her child to leave. Can you talk to a therapist, or a priest, about this? Can you get your sister's boyfriend, or anyone else you know from there, to take pictures of the bruises and document everything?

Contact police with evidence and get this guy to jail.

I know you want to escape the drama, but this is an innocent child we're talking about! Plus your sister, who's emotionally stunted and could be considered vulnerable like a child as well.

Are you in a financial position to take care of the child? Can you find your sister a job here?
She needs to be far, far away from her abuser because she can't help herself at this point. She will likely seek out unhealthy relationships for quite some time because of this, so caring for the fallout will take years.
