What is it about this area that can't create a great place to hang out and where your kids can have fun too? When we went to San Diego- we went to this laid back neighborhood style restaurant/bar- young people, families- all together enjoying happy hour. There was a play area in the patio- next to tables - with a gate that was easy to open but "closed in" the kids. The play area was a wood ship so not this huge tacky plastic thing. Here's another place we went to in Marco Island- the kids still talk about this- this huge play area with water- right next to tables- very good food too. http://www.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g34420-d2369143-i71369360-Mangos_Dockside_Bistro-Marco_Island_Florida.html Hilton Head has some fantastic kid friendly places- skull creek (next to water- so many free kids toys and scavenge hunts, mellow mushroom, another place on the beach so the kids looked for shells- tables were on the beach- kids congregated to play while we ordered/waited for meal).. Here.. not so much.. :( (my kids are ages 6 and 8 now- they still appreciate a kid friendly restaurant that is not McDs with a play area- uck).
