[quote=Anonymous]Well "The Unwelcomed Child" unfortunately wasn't at any of the libraries in my town, and since I am a V.C. Andrews addict, I couldn't wait for them to get it. Besides these books come out in paperback anyway, and they cost like $7.99 so I just bought it. (Don't have a Kindle/Nook). And you guys, don't have to be embarrassed about reading this books!! I take my V.C. Andrews books w/me to waiting rooms, ball games, wherever. I am proud to be a V.C. Andrews fan! Lol! Yes, V.C. Andrews wrote originally, but then she died of breast cancer so her family hired a "ghost writer" to complete some of her stories she had left before she died as well as wrote some more based on her writing style. Her books and the style of her stories are very addicting. I like the stories because they introduce us to a character...A character who the reader views as down + out and feels sorry for. Perhaps this character is poor which usually is the case. Then tragically something happens to this character, such as this person loses someone special in her life and the reader realizes that this person really wasn't that bad off before...She was just poor. Now she is poor and alone. Then by some seemingly fortunate circumstance, this character has the opportunity to go from a street urchin to a queen in less than a day so to speak. She gets to live in a mansion w/servants at her beck and call. She gets to have the best of everything money can buy, yet what she lacks is the love that she once had before when she didn't even have two nickels to rub together. She ends up living w/people who are very shallow and self-absorbed and there is usually a jealous villain/villainess out to destroy her. In the end, goodness prevails and the bad people pay their dues, but not before the main character suffers duly. The books usually have a bittersweet ending. I like how they have a series so you can read about things from each character's perspective. The older books were awesome because you would read like three books, then the last one would be a pr-equal which would take you back to the beginning and explain why things happened the way they did.
