Thanks for the great suggestions. I'm going to look at Hershey right now. My daughter loves amusement parks and we've never been there. We might all end up going to the baseball tournament, but I've had enough baseball to last a lifetime. My son has tournaments or double-headers every weekend all Spring and Fall (plus games during the week). I don't think it's fair to drag my daughter along to all of them. This is one weekend when she doesn't have any games scheduled herself, so I thought it might be nice for us to have some mom/daughter time.
As the non-athletic daughter who was dragged along to every single one of my four brothers' baseball games and tournaments, I think it is wonderful of you to plan a girls' weekend. I wish my mom would've done this with me! I think she will enjoy just about anything you choose, but since you said she's athletic, what about hiking? You can easily access Skyline Drive trails from a bunch of different places, including Charlottesville, and you won't have to fight 95/beach traffic on a holiday weekend. Also love PPs suggestion of Philly if you can get reasonably priced Amtrak tix. Lots of historical attractions and if she's into food/cooking you can stop by Reading Terminal Market for lunch. Little Italy for dinner. And don't forget cheesesteaks!
