My daughter came from DCPS to PGCPS in 4th grade and I didn't have her tested for TAG.  This year she's in 5th grade and her current teachers have asked why she's not in the TAG class. Is it something that I really should pursue?  Will it make a difference in the long run?  She's going to College Park Academy next year and I expect that she will stay there through high school.[/quote]

It wouldn't hurt to get her tested. The only problem I see that might happen is the school actually doing the test. Since the test is usually given to a particular grade. The school will have to make special arrangements to have your daughter tested such as pulling her out of class and someone giving her the test. You can ask her teachers and see what they say.
