I see an internist that was highly recommended by my ob/gyn. I think he was also in one of the Washington top doctors issues. In the past, his billing office has made a mistake that resulted in me being shaken down every time I went into the office for something I had already paid. Noone was able to find the mistake, and it took ME having to find where they changed a check from $54.96 to one for $4.96. I only spotted it because I compared the line item description to the paid column amount. Noone else ever spotted this glaring error. Now I am looking at a bill with the exact same type of error only this time a check I paid and described as being for $118.59 was marked as $15.96 in the paid column. The office manager had apoologized for the previosu error saying she was very upset with the billing company they use saying she had called them and had more than a stern word for them regarding my case. Yet now I have to call her AGAIN about the same type of thing. I like my doctor ok, but this just reeks of something not right. I had seen other posts in the past about billing mistakes and some conjectured they are not mistakes. These are bills for the remaining amounts after insurance has made their payments and adjustments. I have carefirst bcbs. Thoughts?
