As someone who also thinks it's important for adults to have the skills to support themselves, this attitude in a DH would really, really bother me. Basically, what you're saying is that it's fine with him if you do your thing, as long as it doesn't inconvenience him in any way and you're home to pick up the kids and cook dinner?[/quote]
